I’ve been thinking about it, and that poem, that guy that wrote it, he meant you’re gold when you’re a kid, like green. When you’re a kid everything’s new, dawn. It’s just when you get used to everything that it’s day. Like the way you dig sunsets, Pony. That’s gold. Keep that way. It’s a good way to be. Stay Gold Ponyboy. Stay Gold.

That’s a quote from The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and it’s the inspiration behind my bakery name.

This quote is meaningful to me for so many reasons. I have always loved to read, and I studied English Lit in school. I’ve also always loved to bake, and I have the best childhood memories of decorating cookies with my mom. The passage is about celebrating life while we can, and never taking the good stuff for granted.

This is why I love to bake, and it’s why I started my home baking business. Let me help make your most special moments golden.

If all good things must come to an end, at least we have dessert!
